MIA SOARES SILVA
BIO
Mia Soares Silva, from an early age showed interest in water sports, and now at 14 years old, she is competing at the top level.
At the age of 8, Mia tried SUP, with former Olympic canoeist Belmiro Penetra. Starting out paddling casually with the family, Mia gradually began to gain a taste for sport and later for competition.
In her first year of competition, Mia managed to reach two first place and two second place finishes in her category. In 2019, Mia’s trained with her main coach, Ângela Fernandes (tri national champion of SUP).
In 2020, Mia became part of the team of athletes of the Clube Fluvial Vilacondence, with Rui Ramos as her coach (with a wide range of awards in the National SUP and current National Champion for long distances).
In the 2020 season, she joined Team NSP Portugal and reached the title of National Sup Race Sprint Champion in her category.
Mia is now learning to windsurf, while also practicing surfing, but it’s when she is on her skateboards where she unleashes her fury …
According to the press and critics of the specialty, a national reference in the junior sup, aims to evolve and match the athletes of the National Open and participation in international competitions.
NSP is excited to welcome Mia to the team and we can’t wait to see how far she will take her SUP racing career.
