RICHIE LOVETT & VOLUME SHAPES JOIN THE NSP SHAPERS UNION
April 11, 2025 – NSP is proud to announced that former WCT professional surfer Richie Lovett has officially joined the NSP Shapers Union. Lovett recently introduced his brand, Volume Shapes, along with three new models to an enthusiastic audience at the Global Dealers Conference.

Since 2001, the NSP brand has been synonymous with the production of durable, quality epoxy technology surfboards. Pairing this manufacturing technology with the Volume brand, which focusses on user friendly performance, is an exciting development and prospect for surfers worldwide.
Richie joins legendary Hawaiian shaper Carl Schaper, and Australian Longboard guru Tully St John from Laguna Bay Longboards, to round out the Shapers Union offering.

“I’m thrilled to be part of NSP alongside a couple of true legends in the surfboard game. I’ve had my time at the highest level of surfing, but the last two decades my focus has been on designing and shaping boards for the everyday surfer.”
“That means catching more waves and making performance style surfing easier and more attainable, and that’s something most surfers can relate to.”

Since retiring from professional surfing in 2006, Lovett has worked closely with some of the world’s leading surfboard and surf hardware brands, creating functional shapes for every genre of surfing. His passion for design, and broad knowledge of surfing and surfboards, has also seen him develop into one of the most astute voices on the WSL commentary team.

“The level of quality and craftsmanship coming out of Cobra is second to none.”
“I’m beyond excited to bring my designs to a global audience of surfers looking for a dependable, affordable surfboard that will unlock their surfing potential and provide endless hours of wave riding joy.”

Chris Chamberlain, Global Brand Manager at NSP, expressed his excitement: “We’ve been fans of Richie and his boards for years, so having him officially join NSP and integrate his designs with our advanced construction technology is a huge win. His boards fill a unique space in our lineup, and I think they’re going to resonate with surfers everywhere. After all, who doesn’t want a board that surfs incredibly well, lasts a long time, and doesn’t blow out the budget?”
NSP Volume Surfboards will be available for pre-order from mid-May, with boards expected to hit stores in July/August. Details of the board models will be available in the coming weeks.
