Covewater Paddle Surf is the only dedicated Standup Paddleboarding shop in the Santa Cruz/Monterey Bay area.

Opened in 2010, Covewater was just the third SUP shop in the country at the time. As stand up paddling continues to grow rapidly around the world, Covewater filled the gap in Northern California and all those who love boardsports can now call it home. Covewater welcomes one and all to share the simple pleasure and thrill of stand up paddling and prone paddling as well and now hydro foiling.

Damien Simon:
“My wife and I moved to Santa Cruz from Paris in September of 2016 when she was fortunate enough to find a research position at the UCSC (studying worms!!). It was the first time I had ever left my natal country so I had lots to discover, including the English language.

We are both passionate about living close to the ocean and it was clear that I had to find a way to work so I could justify being in the water more. In Paris, I was a sales team manager for one of the biggest mountain bike e-commerce sites. But, I always dreamed of spending more time in the ocean.”
