Description
Who’s the NSP Volume Fish for
Targeted at the committed surfer who might be struggling for speed and acceleration on a lower volume board, or for anyone whose skills have surpassed a longer, wider funboard. This model will enhance your progression from an intermediate into the more experienced class.

Shaper’s Union
The Volume Fish is a Shaper’s Union creation, a collaboration between NSP and world-class shapers like Richie Lovett.
Established to bring new energy and high performance to the surf line-up, Shapers Union is NSP’s way to showcase the incredible skill and talent of some of the most accomplished shapers in the world.
After ten years on the tour and developing a deep understanding of surfboard design, production and shaping, Richie Lovettt moved to finishing his own design in the shaping bay, eventually creating Volume Shapes as his own brand.

Construction
Volume Fish CSE Construction
Built with NSP’s CSE (Custom Surf Epoxy) construction, Richie’s Volume Midlength CSE combines durability and lightweight performance, with the exact layup depending on the board’s length:
Length | Deck | Bottom |
---|---|---|
6’0” – 6’6″ | 4oz + Biax 220g | 4oz |
6’9” – 7’0” | 6oz + Biax 220g | 4oz |
The Fish CSE range is built with NSP’s Custom Surf Epoxy (CSE) lay-up, featuring a CNC-cut 36g EPS core and a 3.6mm wood stringer.
Laminated with full Biaxial fibreglass (220g), it incorporates a 4oz deck on the shorter versions and a 6oz deck on all boards above 6’8″ and a 4oz fin patch. Finished with a clear UV-stable resin and a satin rub, this construction delivers a durable craft with excellent flex, responsiveness, and a lightweight feel.
The epoxy resin, advanced custom layup and EPS core offer a responsive flex pattern. This enhances your connection to the wave without compromising response or feel. And the Volume Fish is not just for 1-ft, knee-high days — it’s been brought into the NSP Shapers Union lineup, ready to charge your sessions when the surf gets serious.
Why does the dimensions table say EST under “Weight”?
“EST” is short for “Estimated Weight”. Since all Volume Hybrid X are hand-shaped to detail by our shapers, weight varies from one board to another within a certain variance. So to calculate a true average weight, NSP reserves the right to manufacture a certain number of boards before publishing the official (average-based) weight.

And of course, our standard NSP Privacy Policy applies.
