Description
Who’s the Chopstix CSE for
Compared to the Tinder-D8, which is another high-performance shortboard in the NSP line-up, the Chopstix is the uncompromised shape of the two. Designed for hard surfing in critical conditions, the Chopstix does away with excess volume and offers its riders a rapid build-up in speed and the tools to slash away at anything from one foot to triple overheads monsters.

Chopstix Dual Band Carbon CSE | Chopstix CSE |
We decided to build the Chopstix CSE in Shaper’s Union Custom Surf Epoxy construction (CSE), which is our most premium construction method and usually reserved for specific designs with a unique glassing schedule.
Established to bring new energy and high performance to the surf line-up, Shapers Union is NSP’s way to showcase the incredible skill and talent of some of the most accomplished shapers in the world.
What’s unusual about this design is that it wasn’t created by one shaper necessarily. Instead, NSP teamriders refined an existing shape as a collective and with the performance parameters we had in mind for the Chopstix CSE, we simply couldn’t choose any other construction than Shapers Union.

Chopstix Dual Band CSE construction
Built with custom surf epoxy lay-up with a clear UV-stable resin and satin rub finish and combined with a CNC-cut EPS core.
The Chopstix CSE is laminated with a full 220g biaxial 4oz deck and 6oz bottom, 4oz patches around the fin boxes, a 6mm wood stringer, a bottom carbon stringer, and a carbon-reinforced tail.
The Chopstix CSE now features an additional carbon stringer on the deck and bottom for additional strength, giving you a durable shortboard with great flex and performance, that feels light and responsive.

Chopstix testimonials
1) “To me man, this is what it’s always been about. To get people stoked about what they are riding. Goes back to my snow days and I just get stoked on people finding things that work outside of their normal thinking/routine. Especially in the surf.”
“NSP boards have made huge steps in producing ripping boards, that work! I’m back on the 6.2 Chopstix. That board rips man.”
Monty Roach, Surftech and NSP Sales Rep, California
2) “The Chopstix is one of the best boards I’ve ever had. The ability of this board to adapt to the type of waves is incredible. The combination of the control and the speed is amazing and the rail of this board allows us to connect maneuvers with the flow. It is a super versatile board, I can use my 5’10 from one- to two meters and when the waves get bigger I get my 6’0.
This is my favorite board for rail maneuvers, progressive maneuvers and for barrels.”
